“A Box Of … “ is my newest baby after a couple of career transformations. I left my corporate career in the financial sector after 17 years to be able to spend more time with my children. I then studied nutrition as I seemed to be spending a lot of time in the kitchen anyway and that led to the creation of my family food focussed blog, Boiled Eggs & Soldiers. It has been a wonderful & ongoing learning experience to say the least!
A move in 2015 from Sydney to Tropical North Queensland meant that I had to reach out and meet new people in a new city. I saw it as an opportunity to start something new again, involving things I love, like shopping and gift giving! I wanted to seek out local talent and started connecting with creative women and small businesses in the region. The idea to curate thoughtful, useful and stylish gift boxes of kindness was sparked.
As a proud feminist, supporting women has always been important to me and now as a mother to two beautiful, funny & feisty little girls, supporting Mothers with their own businesses is even more so. To continue to enable this I extended the gift range to include products from entrepreneurial women Australia wide and I’m hoping that “A Box Of…” becomes known as a place that fosters and encourages local and female talent and is a vehicle to showcase that. We also do stock products from some very talented men who rock and slightly larger businesses, I just like to do my bit to promote girl bosses whenever I can! In giving a gift box from “A Box Of…” you are also supporting multiple small Australian businesses.
On the other side, there is so much joy in gift giving & receiving that I wanted to make sure that the recipients can use each and every gorgeous product in their gift box for long after they have opened the lid. “A Box Of…” really is the gift that keeps on giving! We have an ever growing range of themed boxes for lots of happy occasions and also for when you just want to let someone know that you care. Sometimes when there are no words a thoughtful gift of kindness is the answer.
On our blog we have interviews with the talented people whose products are in the boxes so you can find out more about them and how their products came into being. We’d also love your feedback on how you have found our service, any ideas you may have or if you too have a product that you would to introduce us too.
